eView allows you to read files sent from Integrated Services, Inc. (ISI) software products (LubeSoft, O.I.L.) on a system running a Microsoft Windows operating system. No other ISI software is required. This provides you with a number of ways in which you can use and process information.
With eView you can:
Open and view encrypted reports received via e-mail from a LubeSoft system on any Windows system.
Open and save encrypted data received via e-mail that you can import into third party software such as QuickBooks Pro© or Microsoft© Excel. This functionality allows you to use some of the more advanced features of LubeSoft, such as the Accounting information generated by your software or Data Sharing.
Using eView
After you have loaded eView on your computer, you can view and print encrypted files sent via e-mail from ISI's POS (LubeSoft) or O.I.L. systems. The eView program will also automatically save these files for you after you open them. eView does not process any information. It simply opens and decrypts the files produced and encrypted on ISI's POS or O.I.L. systems.
Although you can send any type of files from ISI software, you may primarily want to send report files. When you receive report files, they will either be in text (.txt) or HTML (.htm) format. The format that the reports are sent in is set up in ISI's POS software on the Setup Outbound File Destinations Screen (Outside Communications Menu-4). If they are sent in text format, your Windows system will open them with the software on your system designated to open files with the .txt extension (usually WordPad or NotePad). If they are sent in HTML format, your Windows system will open them with the software on your system designated to open files with the .htm extension (usually your Internet Explorer Browser).
If you choose to send files other than report files (such as accounting files for your accountant), they will be in a comma delimited format. This feature allows you to use some of the more advanced functionality of ISI's software, such as Data Sharing or the QuickBooks Pro interface. Keep in mind that eView simply decrypts files that are mailed to you. You still need to set up your POS system correctly for whatever third party software you are importing these files into. Refer to the sections in your POS User’s Guide, such as Data Sharing in Appendix F or QuickBooks Pro Interface in Appendix G for more detailed information about setting up your files.
Use the following instructions to decrypt and open ISI software files.
- Download the encrypted file from your e-mail system.
- Locate the downloaded file and double-click the file. eView should automatically decrypt the file and display it to you.
